My Story
I believe that mission-driven organizations and their leaders deserve the best strategy, support, and operational systems to power their aspirations. Too often, I have witnessed passionate professionals struggling not because they lack commitment, but because they lack the right organizing frameworks and team alignment needed to translate their strategy into meaningful action and results.
My approach to this work stems from a unique perspective: I have spent twenty years working both inside and alongside nonprofit organizations, and I understand intimately the challenges you face because I have lived them myself.
My career began in nonprofit strategy and management roles across numerous New York-based organizations, from grassroots groups to the largest local philanthropy in the world. I launched programs from concept to implementation, secured millions in funding, and experienced firsthand both the profound satisfaction of mission-driven work and the systemic issues that can bog down even the most talented teams. A few key achievements included: leading strategic planning initiatives that released groundbreaking research and pilot funding opportunities, and increased volunteer leadership donations by 15% and scholarships by 65% over two years for UJA-Federation of New York; establishing an innovative professional development and collaboration network of 450 Northeast U.S. nonprofit managers for NEXT; and launching experiential travel and volunteer programs that grew from zero to thousands of participants for numerous organizations.
My professional experiences, combined with my interest in learning new sectors and problem-solving, led me to corporate consulting at CGI, where I guided Fortune 500 clients through digital transformation and organizational change initiatives. Working with enterprise-level clients taught me systematic approaches to strategy, change management, and operational design. A few key achievements included: orchestrating enterprise resiliency initiatives that reduced cybersecurity issues by 93%, sustained critical behavioral and technical changes across the company, and resulted in $3 million in cost savings over three years for Merck; and helping to launch Organon, a new health company, by facilitating planning exercises with 20 business leaders across 12 departments and directing a seamless transition for 800 staff members and technical systems. During this time, I also gained my Master's degree in Industrial-Labor Relations and Management from Cornell University and my Change Management Practitioner certification from Prosci, to further increase my knowledge and skills.
Throughout my corporate experience, I remained connected to nonprofit work, continuing to volunteer and stay informed with the latest news. My experiences revealed a critical insight: the strategic rigor and systematic approaches that drive Fortune 500 success can be adapted and updated to improve nonprofit effectiveness, while staying true to their missions and unique cultures. So I established my consulting practice to ensure that the people dedicating their careers to changing the world have the strategic support and operational foundations they need to thrive, not just survive.
I approach every conversation with curiosity and empathy, understanding not just what challenges organizations face, but why they persist and how they affect the people behind the mission. I listen closely, focusing on the human dynamics and organizational culture that shape how work gets accomplished, while bringing levity and humor that allows serious problems to be addressed without losing the joy that originally drew people to this work. What motivates me is recognizing that nonprofit leaders have chosen to dedicate their careers to making the world better and deserve work environments that support their success rather than exhaust their passion. Having experienced both exceptional and challenging organizational cultures, I am committed to transforming the nonprofit sector into a place where talented people can build sustainable careers while advancing their critical social missions.
In my free time, I serve on the boards of the Joseph & Yetta Weisberger Fund and CharacTours. I'm also an active member of numerous professional networks supporting the nonprofit industry, including NJ Center for Nonprofits, Building Better Together, Independent Journeyers, JPro, and local chambers of commerce. I live in a charming Northern New Jersey lake community with my wife and daughter, where I enjoy playing music, hiking, and swimming.
Why Ives?

I named my practice after Ives Hall at Cornell University, where I completed my Master's degree. Ives Hall is known for its distinct structure and sense of openness, which is a good metaphor for my approach to work with clients.
